New homes on rural blocks
If the nearest pole is a long way off, a grid connection can cost tens of thousands before you use a single unit of power. An off-grid system is often cheaper upfront, and there’s no power bill afterwards.

For farms, rural blocks and new builds where the grid is too far away or too expensive to connect. Complete systems designed, installed and supported by our team.
A new home on a rural block in Popanyinning, in the Wheatbelt. Connecting to the grid was quoted at more than $50,000, so the owners asked us for an off-grid option instead.
The finished system came in at less than half the cost of the mains connection, with the federal solar and battery discounts applied.

Homesteads, workers’ quarters, workshops and pumps.
Long feeder lines with regular outages, where independence matters.
Separate lived-in dwellings on the same property can each qualify for the battery discount.
Stand-alone solar for pumps, sheds and equipment, sized to the load.

It depends on how much power the property uses, how many days of backup you want and whether a generator is included. A home-sized system with around 15kW of solar and 30 to 40kWh of battery is a common starting point. We price every system from a load assessment, and the federal solar and battery discounts come off the price upfront where the site is eligible.
Often, on rural blocks. At our Popanyinning job the quoted mains connection was over $50,000, and the off-grid system came in at less than half of that. Every site is different, so we compare the two for you.
Yes, if the system meets the rules. Off-grid solar can create STCs, and off-grid batteries are eligible for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount when installed on a dwelling that is lived in. Sheds and bore pumps on their own do not qualify for the battery discount.
We size the solar and battery for winter, not summer, and can integrate a backup generator that starts automatically when the battery runs low. Most of the year the generator never runs.
Yes. We design off-grid systems with room to grow, so you can add battery modules or more solar as the property develops.
